Privacy Policy
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Our Tiny Planet is an app for couples who live apart: a small shared world you build together, with a home, buildings, chat, letters, games and more. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the choices and rights you have.
“Our Tiny Planet”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the provider of the app. You can contact us at leonaskari@hotmail.co.uk.
Who can use the app
Our Tiny Planet is for adults only. You must be 18 or over to create an account. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and do not let anyone younger continue.
What we collect
Your account
- Sign-in details: your email address and a password (stored securely by our sign-in provider, never readable by us), or your Google or Apple account if you choose to sign in with one. With Sign in with Apple you can hide your real email address.
- Profile: your first name, date of birth, time zone, and your avatar (the look you choose for yourself), and any looks you and your partner design for each other, which only the two of you can see.
- Settings: your notification choices and quiet hours, and the other choices you make in Settings.
What you and your partner create together
Our Tiny Planet is shared between you and one partner. When you pair up with an invite code, the two of you share a world. We store what you create in it so that both of you can see it:
- your land, home designs, buildings and the things you place in your house;
- chat messages, letters (including ones scheduled for later), notes and voice notes;
- photos you add (for example to a photo frame, your journal or as your chat background);
- journal entries (each one either shared with your partner or private to you), your calendar, countdowns and your vision board;
- games you play together, your shared pet, pulses and moods, and movement check-ins.
Anything you share in the app can be seen by your partner. Private journal entries can only be seen by you.
Your approximate location (only if you choose)
The Weather Window can show your partner the weather where you are. It only does this if you turn it on. We then store your location rounded to about 10 km (never your exact position), and only your partner can see the weather it shows. You can turn this off at any time in the app.
Your steps from Apple Health or Health Connect (only if you choose)
Walk to each other in the Vitality Dome can read your daily step count from Apple Health (on iPhone) or Health Connect (on Android), but only if you allow it. We read nothing else from Health: no other health or fitness data, and we never write anything to it. We store one number for each day (your steps that day) so that your partner can see how far the two of you have walked. Your steps are never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with anyone other than your partner, and never sold. You can stop sharing at any time in your phone's Settings (Health, then Data Access) or in Health Connect, and you can still type your steps in yourself instead.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your phone so that we can send you notifications (for example when your partner sends you a message). We do not use it for anything else.
Crash reports and usage (only if you choose)
Both are off unless you turn them on in Settings → Privacy.
- Crash reports include your account ID, the app version, your type of phone’s operating system and details of the error, so that we can fix problems.
- Usage events include only the name of what happened (for example “a building was opened”), a random ID for your phone that is not linked to your account, and the app version and operating system.
Purchases
You can buy Comets (an in-app currency) through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Payment is handled entirely by them, with our payments service RevenueCat confirming each purchase. We receive a record of what you bought: the pack, a transaction reference, which store, and when. For the Couple Plan subscription, we also keep which plan your couple has, who subscribed, when it renews or ends, and whether it is a free trial, so both of you get it. We never see your card or bank details. If a purchase is refunded by the store, we record the refund and take back the Comets it gave (as many as are still in your wallet).
Reports and feedback
If you send us feedback or report a problem (Settings → Legal and support → Report a problem), we store what you write with your account ID, the app version and your phone’s operating system, so that we can look into it and, for reports, keep the app safe. We read every report within a day.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not show you adverts or use your information for advertising.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
Why we use your information (and our legal basis)
- To provide the app to you and your partner: your account, your shared world and everything in it. The legal basis is the contract between us (our Terms of Use).
- To keep the app safe and working, including checking you are 18 or over and preventing misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interests in running a safe service, and the contract.
- Your approximate location, notifications, crash reports and usage events: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in the app or your phone’s settings.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. They only process your information on our behalf and to provide their service:
- Supabase: hosts our database, file storage (for photos and voice notes) and sign-in.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: deliver notifications to your phone.
- Google and Apple: if you choose to sign in with them.
- Open-Meteo: provides the weather for the Weather Window. It receives only the rounded location, not who you are.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google: for purchases. RevenueCat receives your account ID and your purchase history so that it can confirm purchases.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an adequacy decision.
How we keep it safe
Information is encrypted when it travels between your phone and our servers. Access rules in our database make sure that only you, and your partner for what you share, can read your world. Photos and voice notes are kept in private storage that only the two of you can access.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. When you do:
- your account, profile, settings and your private content (such as private journal entries, and the messages, letters and notes you wrote) are deleted;
- if you share a world with a partner, that world (the land, the home and what is in it) stays with your partner, so that they do not lose it.
You can also leave a couple without deleting your account (Settings → Account → Leave this couple). You then start afresh on your own and no longer see the shared world; your partner keeps it, including the messages and letters you sent them. Your own Stardust and Comets stay with you.
Crash reports and usage events are kept for up to 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information (you can also delete your account yourself in the app);
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
- ask for your information in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.
To use any of these rights, contact us at leonaskari@hotmail.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
